About #GotYourBack App

• #GotYourBack is an all-in-one food allergy management iOS app that stores allergens, medical information, scans food labels, and uses geolocation to notify emergency contacts if an emergency occurs.

Ingredient Lookup

• Take a picture of an ingredient label to identify key allergens. The app will recognize words and ingredients from the picture using a Google Text Detection API to identify any allergens present in the product.

Reminders

• Set reminders and track expiration dates for medications. The app sends reminders before medication expires and notifies you of the expiration date in advance, with reminders sent 15 days, 7 days, and 2 days before the expiration date.

#GotYourBack provides notifications regarding expired medications or set reminders. You can enable notifications within the app or in Settings >> #GotYourBack >> Notifications >> Allow Notifications.

Emergency

• Pressing the emergency button will send a text message to your stored emergency contacts along with your current location.

Medical Info

• Store and access your medical information at any time. Input personal data such as blood type, height, weight, medications, and dosages into specified fields.

Allergies

• Check off allergens from the Top 8 Allergens list or input your custom allergens. The ingredient lookup feature will scan ingredient labels for selected/typed allergens.

Emergency Contact

• Enter information about your emergency contacts into the required fields. This data is utilized in the emergency feature, which sends a message to your emergency contacts containing your location in case of an emergency.

Food Allergy Alerts

• Receive recall and alert notifications sourced from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
